Dance Faculty Biographies
Carol
Carol graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato, with a BS in Music Education with a Concentration in Piano, with additional studies from UND and St. Thomas. She joined the staff at Allegro in the fall of 2008, retiring from teaching music in the East Grand Forks Public Schools, to be closer to family. She also had taught piano lessons out of her home for many years in EGF, played for church, concerts, contests, musicals, weddings and funerals. Currently, she teaches at a daycare, plays for the choir and subs on the organ at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville, plays keyboard in the Rochester Big Band, plays for various music programs and other church services in town, and helps out at on the piano/keyboard for special music events for the Rochester Civic Theatre.
Tom
Tom holds a bachelor of education, a bachelor of music and a master's degree in music. He is knowledgeable about the technical and artistic aspects of many musical instruments including piano, organ, flute, clarinet, and trumpet. He is proficient in directing both individuals and ensembles. In addition to private piano and instrument instruction, Mr. Burson is busy performing, directing and teaching. His work places include Evangel United Methodist Church, School Age Child Care, and Resurrection Lutheran School all of Rochester. Tom offers private instruction in piano and brass and woodwind instruments at Allegro School of Dance & Music.
