BALLET 1 (7-9 years old) 7 years old by September 15
Ballet class begins with strengthening and stretching exercises, followed by a center barre with focus on correct placement of the body over the legs. Traveling across the floor with leaps and jumps comes next while allowing creative expression to shine through!
BALLET 2 (8-12 years old) 8 years old by September 15th
For the engaged and excited ballet student, level 2 builds upon body alignment, terminology and basic ballet technique. Placement is based on evaluation.
A minimum of 2 ballet classes per week are required.
BALLET TOO 8-12 years old
A once a week class for the student who is discerning their ballet path. Though not connected to Ballet 2, this once a week class will perform in the SDC. Placement required, enjoyment guaranteed.
HIP HOP 1 (7-12 years old)
Warm-up and workout to today’s pop music.
Short stylized combinations are taught in this upbeat and high energy class.
MODERN 1 7-12 years old
Dancers will explore the elements of energy, space and time. Utilizing floor and center work, modern builds technique through the use of gravity and sense of weightiness in the body.
JAZZ 1 7-12 years old
After warm up, across-the-floor progressions and fun combinations will challenge speed, dynamics and contrast of the movement. Emphasis is placed on learning isolations of the body.
TAP 1 7-12 years old
Clarity of sounds, rhythm and tempos are the landmarks of learning tap. Get ready to think quickly and have fun on your feet!
TAP 2 7-12 years old
Progressing from level 1, tap 2 refines the basics while adding acceleration of speed and upper body articulation.
ACRO FOR DANCERS 1 7-12 years old
Tumbling skills will build confidence through coordination and strength. With enthusiastic staff, props and the element of fun, this class is a great supplement to any dance technique. ASDM is Acro Arts Certified and the Acro Arts syllabus will be followed.
